The Christmas Miracles are here!!!

Mommy Mistletoe and all the kids are in NJ! They came from TN, and after a bath, a good meal, and warm spot to cuddle, they are sleeping comfortably. This is the first night in their little lives that they've ever slept inside, off of the cold hard concrete on soft clean blankets. They are about 5 weeks old, and as cute as they come!! Meet the Miracles!

The last of the Musketeers is gone

Baby Aramis passed away yesterday. Everyone who met the teeny little guy loved him. He fought a long hard battle for 4 weeks, but he was just too little, and had too much to overcome. He's running in the fields now, pain free, and without a care in the world. Run wild, little man, I loved you and will never forget you.

Prayers for Aramis

Late last night little Aramis became lethargic and nonresponive, so I rushed him to the 24 hour emergency hospital. His blood glucose was dangerously low, and they were able to get an IV catheter in his tiny leg, and get him stabilized. I just got a report from the doctor that he's doing better, but now having trouble maintaining his temperature. He'll be at the hospital for at least another day. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers that he can pull through this!!

Aramis is 4 weeks old!

This little man is such a character! He will be 4 weeks old tomorrow, and only weighs about a pound!! He's a teeny little beanie baby husky. Enjoy the pics after his bath last night. 8)

And then there was one...

Little d'Artagnan, despite a valiant fight, passed away late last week. He was still in the care of the emergency 24 hour hospital. The little boys heart just gave out, and he couldn't continue his journey. Rest in peace little boy.

d'Artagnan's two week picture

Poor d'Artagnan's two week photo doesn't have the best background. But hopefully he gets out of the hospital as soon as his seizures are managed, and we'll get him photos with Santa in no time!!

Kiska is home!!

While she is not out of the woods yet, she has been released from the hospital! She still has a long road ahead of her to beat her pneumonia, anemia, and other maladies. She is much changed from nearly 3 weeks ago when she was admitted to the specialty hospital. 3 weeks ago, she could barely walk, and was pregnant with 10 babies. Today she is full of energy, 'woo woo'd' her way home, and has a typical husky personality.

Her 2 surviving sons, d'Artagnan and Aramis, are hanging in there, determined to make her proud.

See the previous post to see our Kiska Kar Magnets Fundraiser to help cover Kiska and her babies' considerable medical expenses. Also, remember to keep d'Artagnan in your thoughts and prayers to help the little guy pull through whatever is causing him to have seizures.

Musketeer update

The two little Musketeers turned 2 weeks old yesterday. d'Artagnan did not get a very good present, though. He started having grand mal seizures last night. It is not fair to have had such a rough start in this world, have no mommy, only be 2 weeks old, and then have your little body racked with seizures. He was admitted today into a veterinary specialty hospital for seizure watch. They were able to get an IV catheter into one of his tiny little front legs.

So please please say a prayer for little d'Artagnan. He is in a very big scary vet hospital fighting seizures at the tender age of 2 weeks old. His eyes aren't even open yet, and he has so much to overcome.

Aramis, the little fighter that he is, is hanging in there. He is still eating well, and doing well. He is a little lonely because his brother is in the hospital. He has a toy doggie to snuggle up to, and he's making due with his surrogate 'brother' for the time being. Hopefully d'Artagnan will be home soon and he and Aramis can snuggle together again.

Watch for their two week old 'portraits' to be posted soon.

Husky House has amazing magnets for your car (or your fridge, or any cool metal space). There are 2 sizes. The smaller size is about 6 inches by 6 inches. The larger size is nearly twice that size. They look stunning on your car! Show your love for huskies with these beautiful magnets. We are calling them the Kiska Kar Magnets to help with fundraising for Kiska and her babies. Send me a note if you want one!!

The Musketeers are a week old!

Here are the two Musketeers that have survived the first week. Sadly, Athos and Porthos passed away. We lit candles for them over the weekend.

d'Artagnan is the big boy of the two, and a pistol already! Aramis is smaller and much sweeter and more patient.

Their eyes should open this week (at 10-14 days old. Their ears are opening, and they are starting to hear all the sounds of their new world.

Their mommy, Kiska, is still in the hospital on oxygen battling pneumonia. Say a prayer for her and keep her in your thoughts that she pulls through too. She is a sweet sweet girl, and deserves this second chance!

If you want to help this little family, there is a donation button on the left. Just click it, and donate to Kiska and her puppies! Kiska is in a 24 hour specialty hospital, and has been there for the last 10 days. The puppies require around the clock care, since their mommy is unable to care for them. Remember, Husky House is a 501(c) organization, so all your donations are tax deductible!
